At the time of his Gatorade Player of the Year selection. Kruz hit .506 entering the state championship game to go with 14 doubles, 10 home runs, 30 RBI and 29 runs scored. He posted a .609 OBP and an OPS of 1.517. Ranked as the nation’s No. 33 overall prospect in the 2025 Major League Baseball First Year Player Draft, he is a two-time Perfect Game Preseason Underclass All-American.

Kruz went on to be selected in the 1st Round of the 2025 MLB Draft by the San Diego Padres (25th Overall)
