J.P. Sportman a native of Schenectady, NY. Sportman spent his amatuer years at La Salle Institute in Troy, NY. Following his high school career, Sportman went on to have a standout career at Central Connecticut State University, where he was a four-time All-NEC Conference selection.

After a 4 year stint at CCSU, he was drafted by the Oakland Athletics in the 2014 MLB Draft. Following his playing career, Sportman has spent the last five years honing his expertise off the field, and creating JP3 Baseball. Building a brand respected by MLB, MiLB, NCAA and top amatuer prospects all across the country. Showcasing his reputation and impact in the world of baseball development.

2024 marked Sportman’s first summer as the coach for the Detroit Tigers Scout Team under USA Prime National. Sportman lead a roster packed with some of the best young talent in the country. The team features top-tier players who are soon to make their mark across Power 5 conferences and potentially the MLB Draft. With a focus on developing elite skills and fostering a competitive mindset. Under Sportman’s guidance, these athletes are prepared not only for the rigors of collegiate baseball but also for professional opportunities at the highest levels of the game.

CFO / PLAYER DEVELOPMENT

Kevin Cron a native of Ahwatukee spent his amateur years at Mountain Pointe HS. After logging some of the most impressive high school seasons ever, Cron went on to be selected in the 3rd round of the 2011 MLB Draft by the Seattle Mariners out of HS. He chose to forgo the opportunity and instead spend the next three years playing at Texas Christian University (TCU). Where he was drafted again 3 years later in the 14th round of the 2014 MLB Draft by the Arizona Diamondbacks.

Cron made his MLB debut on May 24, 2019, and later went on to play professionally in Japan and Korea. After retiring from professional play, he shifted his focus to player development, bringing his extensive knowledge of the game to help guide and mentor the next generation of athletes rolling through JP3.
